Best places to visit in Germany

Best places to visit in Germany

  • Tegernsee: The stunning lakeside town of Tegernsee is set against the backdrop of picturesque mountains in the southern state of Bavaria. With traditional buildings and narrow roads, strolling through the town is an experience. If travelers have brought along hiking shoes, there are wonderful mountain trails to explore. Visiting in December? The Christmas markets are magical for kids.
  • Berlin: The capital city of Berlin plays to all the senses. Travelers who love music will be excited to find a wealth of options; if jazz is your favorite, try Quazimodos, a cultural institution. For a cultural experience, visit the iconic Brandenburg Gate or the Berlin Wall Memorial. And don’t miss the bold street art scattered throughout the city.
  • Cologne: Situated on the Rhine River, the city of Cologne is one of the largest in Germany. Travelers coming here are welcomed with stunning vistas created by the Cologne Cathedral, the Hohenzollern Bridge and the rich architecture that speaks to a centuries-old history. When you’re done taking in the beauty, visit one of the many museums like the riverside Cologne Chocolate Museum.
Driving Tips for Germany

Driving Tips for Germany

When you need to drive in Germany, there are a few things you should know. Speed limits within cities are generally 50 km/h and 100 km/h on some roads outside cities. There is no speed limit on the Autobahn, but it’s recommended to drive no more than 130 km/h. You’ll drive on the right and be sure to follow the lead of other drivers and put on your hazard lights and move to the side of the road if in a traffic jam on roads outside cities. Right of way at intersections is the driver on your right, which you must yield for.
Winter in Germany

Winter in Germany

The winter months add a romantic layer to the cities across the country of Germany. Whether in Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt or any other city or town, the Christmas markets that pop up in December are filled with hand-crafted items and a reminder of times past. Rent a winterized SUV from SIXT and try to visit as many as you can. For travelers who are staying in a single city, taste the ales and pilsners at beer halls, a staple institution across the country.

Great sixt Location, the team are friendly and very helpful, i don't understand some of the bad reviews, i have never had an issue with car payments , everything works how it supposed to, cars are always nice and clean and pretty new. They have EV too if you want to use a Tesla or other EV. I have rented multiple cars from this site over the last few months, and i will continue to do so
